Considering the frequency and causes of gas accidents as well as an increasing trend of consumption of gas in Korea, there has been an increasing risk of gas accident.
Therefore, we need to keep safety by preventing accidents by referring to the safe gas management.
Notes of attention prior to using: Ventilation
  • Check if gas leaks by smelling in indoor space including the combustor prior to using gas and ventilate as a part of daily safety instructions.
  • Do not leave flammable substances near combustor.
  • Since there are many cases of gas leak in the connection including cock or pipe, make sure to squeeze hose. If hose is obsolete or damaged, make sure to immediately replace it.
  • Combusting devices shall not be left with food leftover in the fire hole by cleaning them.
Notes of attention while using: Check flame
  • If the color of flame is yellow or red when using gas, it is related to imperfect combustion. Therefore, combustion is not efficient, while causing carbon monoxide. Therefore, it is required to adjust it to blue flame by using air control device.
  • If wind blows, or soup is spilled to turn off the fire, gas is exposed. Therefore, check whether fire is extinguished frequently when using gas. It is in a structure that can be easily dissembled with burner, tripod, and soup cover. Therefore, it is mostly used at home.
  • If fire is extinguished, combustor without fire extinguishing safety device shall be locked with gas as gas is continuously exposed. Therefore, check if gas is emitted to outside and flame it again. Due to concentration in the explosion, mixed gas is exploded with small flame. Therefore, when emitting it, make sure not to use the electronic devices such as a fan but to use sitting cushion or broom to prevent explosion of electronic spark.
  • If fire is extinguished as gas is running out while using it, make sure to lock the valve in the middle of cock of combustor.
Notes of attention after using: Close valve
  • After using gas, make sure to lock the cock attached on the combustor and also the mid-valve as a habit.
  • When going out for a long time, make sure to lock the mid-valve and container valve (LPG) as well as main valve installed next to the gas measuring device to prevent accidents for explosion by electronic spark occurring from refrigerator with leak of gas from empty and closed house.
  • If there is a gas in the container after using gas at all, there are many cases that there is remaining gas. Therefore, there is a chance for gas to leak if leaving it with open container valve. Make sure to lock the container valve and keep it in the area without fire.
Check leakage
  • In the gas leakage, everyone is able to check with smell. If a small amount of gas is leaked, it is difficult to identify the leakage if a person cannot smell well. Therefore, make sure to have a habit to check whether gas is leaked frequently to prevent the accident as the best way.
  • It is very simple to check if gas is leaked. Therefore, it is enough to see if there is foam by placing soap water or liquid. Facilities used at home can be checked at the connecting areas such as hose or pipe except for when hose is very obsolete, or combustor is broken.
  • When checking, make sure to mix the kitchen liquid detergent and water used at home by 1:1 ratio to make bubble. Then, put it on the brush or sponge to be applied near connected areas in the hose. If there is no reaction, it means that gas has not been leaked. However, if gas is leaked even a slight amount, it is possible to see with soap bubble.
  • If finding that gas is leaking, make sure to lock the container valve or main valve and contact sales agent to have a repair and use it again. Check with soap water is recommended to be conducted as a part of habit on a specific day.
